Hyaluronic acid fillers represented 30% of minimally invasive procedures in the ASPS 2025 report, as patients ask to look more like themselves. A Midtown Manhattan practice explains how it plans natural-looking lip filler.
Hyaluronic acid filler remains one of the most requested non-surgical treatments in the country. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons' 2025 Procedural Statistics Report found that hyaluronic acid fillers represented 30% of minimally invasive procedures, and that together, neuromodulators and HA fillers made up 80% of minimally invasive treatments. ASPS also noted that patients increasingly want to look and feel more like themselves, rather than seek a dramatic change.
For lip filler, Dr. Lanna Aesthetics in Midtown Manhattan says that goal starts before anything is injected. At the practice, the injector first evaluates facial anatomy, prior product responses, longevity goals and budget, then plans the amount and placement to suit the lips and the rest of the face. For many patients, that means single-syringe lip refinement rather than a large change in one visit.
The practice works most often with the Restylane family of hyaluronic acid fillers, including Restylane Kysse and Restylane Defyne for lips. According to the practice, Restylane HA fillers typically last 6 to 18 months depending on product and area. Most patients return to normal activities the same day, and mild swelling or bruising is possible for 24 to 72 hours.
Founder Dr. Lanna Cheuck, DO, FACS, has performed over 10,000 injectable treatments, trains other providers nationally as a GAIN national trainer, and sees patients personally at the practice. She has been featured in Forbes, Cosmopolitan, NewBeauty, NBC and Fox 5's Good Day New York.
Dr. Lanna Aesthetics is located at 140 W 58th St Suite A, on West 58th between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, a block south of Central Park. Saturday visits are by appointment only.
"Most of our lip filler patients are not asking for a new face. They want their own lips to look rested and balanced, so we study the anatomy first and add only what the face needs," said a spokesperson for Dr. Lanna Aesthetics.
Lip Filler Checklist
- Ask the injector to explain how the plan fits the rest of your face, not only the lips.
- Find out which filler product will be used and why it suits the area.
- Ask how long results usually last for that product so you can plan touch-ups.
- Mention any past filler treatments and how your lips responded to them.
- Plan for possible mild swelling or bruising in the first few days.
